Saddle Brook NJ: Route 80 shut down due to truck overturned

Jan 26, 2024

The eastbound lanes of Route 80 were briefly shut down in Saddle Brook due to an overturned dump truck Wednesday morning, the New Jersey Department of Transportation tweeted.

The crash happened just east of exit 62. One express lane is still closed. The transportation department advised motorists to follow a detour in the area.

Traffic maps showed the highway shut down from exit 62, which acts as the interchange to the Garden State Parkway, to exit 63 in Hackensack.

The same stretch of the westbound side was also briefly closed due to a debris spill.

The eastbound side of Route 80 is typically busy during the morning commute, as it takes drivers toward the New Jersey Turnpike and George Washington Bridge.
